Stephen, thank you for reading and commenting. No, God is not ok with people committing evil and I certainly hope that my writing is not so bad that you inferred that from my article.

Evil is the result of humans using their free will to make bad decisions. And yes, free will is of great importance. If we had no free will then we would have to accept that God created us just to be pawns for him to move around on a cosmic chess board for his own amusement. Nope, I’m not buying that.

God created us, in his own image no less, and cares about us and wants us to love and follow him. But what value is that love if it is forced instead of given freely?

Some will choose to follow God and live as much as possible within the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Jesus. Some will not and that often makes life a living hell for others. But God does not in any way condone that type of behavior.

As for the question of what Heaven will be like, I have no idea. I just trust that it will be a state of being totally in the presence of God and there is nothing wrong with that.

Thanks again Stephen for reading and spurring me on the think deeper.
