In high school we listened to AM stations out of Chattanooga. Of course we lost the signal around sunset and then tuned to WLS from Chicago. In 1979 I drove from Georgia to California and spent hours in New Mexico and Arizona with nothing but static. Well, I did have two cassettes, but they got old pretty fast.
