I can't help myself, here are my answers to the beer questionnaire:
1. Last beer drank and why? Space Dust IPA from Elysian Brewing of Seattle, WA. It is the only beer in my fridge right now and it's in the fridge because it's delicious.
2. First beer? I was 15 years old, and it was probably a Budweiser, Pabst Blue Ribbon or Schlitz.
3. Favorite beer? Fulcrum Imperial IPA from Smiling Toad Brewery in Colorado Springs, CO. Unfortunately, they no longer brew it, so my current favorite is whatever west coast style IPA is in front of me.
4. Worst beer? Bud Light, hands down.
5. Beer after momentous occasion? It's hard to pick just one but I'll go with a Yeungling and hamburger after my wife and I completed the Marine Corps Marathon.
6. Beer with a cool person? No one famous. Just a lot of friends and family.
7. A cool story from a brewery I've visited? I've visited 122 microbreweries so there are many stories. However, at SJ Brewing in Yulee, Florida I met a group of sailors and in the conversation discovered that one of them had served on a submarine with my son-in-law ten year previously. I managed to get him on the phone, and they had a great conversation.
8. Favorite pub? My favorite microbrewery is Smiling Toad in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It's rustic, low key and filled with locals. My favorite non brewery "pub" is Pajama Dave's Beer Garden in Fernandina Beach, Florida. There is outdoor and indoor seating and 200 beers on the menu. It's very much a local's hangout with an irreverent and politically incorrect crowd.
9/10. A good story related to beer? I was visiting my daughter and her family in Portland, Oregon. One morning as my daughter was leaving for work, I stood at a window holding my grandson who was about 3 years old. As we waved from the window my grandson said, "Mommas going to get more beer."
